• Assign meaningful homework that emphasizes skills being taught in the classroom
• Communicate homework assignments through the use of newsletters, homework sheets, or agendas
• Assign daily reading (book, magazine, recipe, etc.) with support from parent/guardian as needed
• Check homework for completion and understanding
• Believe homework promotes student responsibility and missing assignment will result in consequences
• Assign appropriate amounts of homework based on your child’s grade level
